STEM

At BHS we support all students to aspire to their career choices by offering a wide range of A levels. We have a whole school focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) opportunities. Previous life changing opportunities for students include:

 

  • Year 5 STEM competition for over 100 local primary students every year

  • Winners of Lincolnshire Go4Set Physics competition

  • Top of the bench Chemistry Lincolnshire winners

  • STEM careers guidance and workplace opportunities

  • National finalists of Lincolnshire STEM day competition

  • Maths and the 3 A level Sciences Olympiads

  • DT Project X competition working with RAF

  • DT and IT Lego competition winners

  • A level yearly physics CERN trip

  • National winner of a Wildlife competition about sustainability after the Boston floods

  • Inspiring women in STEM displays

 

All the Heads of STEM subjects are particularly proud of the female empowerment and options that arise from STEM and aim to work to continue to provide opportunities so any student, male or female, can aspire to a rewarding career in STEM.
